How can a Brooklyn library better serve the diverse needs of the community in a confined space?
This design for the Bedford Branch of the BPL separates the programmatic elements by level changes and is accessible via ramp. The teen section and computer areasĀ are depressed into the ground, providing for an easy viewpoint from the circulation desk. An elevated children's section provides levels for children of different ages to read and play.
